Hi Jacob,
1. I tried removing libsdl1.2debian-oss and replacing it with
libsdl1.2debian-esd and that knocked out my sound system. I couldn't
hear any more .wav files. So I put back the original -oss libsdl1.2 and
removed the -esd version and things went back to normal.
2. No I never used oss drivers for the life of this machine, only alsa
with oss emulation.
3. I did your experiment with xmms playing wave files using
oss-emulation specifically oss driver 1.2.10 liboss.so, and it worked
perfectly. Played all the .wav files.
4. So... the problem seems to be with the .it files which is what
ppracer complains about.
This is very mysterious.
Cheers,
Jonathan
