Re: Debian way of integrating out of tree drivers

Matt again thank you but I am afraid I am not explaining the problem.

Let me try to recap:

I now have

/usr/src/modules/madwifi
/usr/src/modules/thinkpad
/usr/src/linux-2.6.11.4

I am compiling with:

fakeroot make-kpkg clean
time fakeroot make-kpkg --added_modules=madwifi,thinkpad --revision=t40.$SUBV kernel_image modules_image

At the end, without any errors I get:

-rw-r--r-- 1 bob bob 3517998 2005-03-31 21:58 kernel-image-2.6.11.4_t40.200503312147_i386.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 bob bob 20698 2005-03-31 21:58 thinkpad-modules-2.6.9.rja_5.8-1+t40.200412221617_i386.deb

Now please note:

a) no madwifiXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.deb
b) thinkpad-modules is produced exactly after the kernel-image (see file timestamp not filename) but has a WRONG name and damned me I cannot understand where it takes that name from. I do NOT have any trace of a 2.6.9 kernel on my machine :( :(

Hope you will come up with some bright insight :)

'night
Bob
