I haven't used chrony so I may be missing something but wouldn't it only
set the correct UTC time?  If your timezone is set correctly (try
tzconfig) then you should never have to worry about any daylight saving
adjustments.

My tz is set correctly.

If I issue sudo tzconfig it outputs:

bob@t40:~$ sudo tzconfig
Your current time zone is set to Europe/Rome
Do you want to change that? [n]:
Your time zone will not be changed

but the time did not change with the advent of Europe's daylight savings time :(

What next ?
