there is a floppy boot option for knoppix out there that I used for an
old system that was supposed to cd boot but didn't. Also, seems that
knoppix comes with debootstrap on it so...if you can floppy boot the
thing, then use debootstrap to build a debian system on the hd you
could get around the 3 gig limit, but still have all those nice knoppix
cd utils to help set up partitions etc... all you'd need then would be
a working NIC...
