I don't use Nautilus much, but having the 'Open With' tab in the file properties dialog box is a great feature that ties in with the efforts to simplify the interface and design things so they just work. And with the efforts to migrate to the common mime type database, timing was right.

I don't know what the plans are in relation to providing a 'File Types and Programs' control panel applet. I'm guessing it was dropped because it did not fit in with the new semantics, but I certainly feel it would be a mistake not bring back an updated version or a replacement.

As great as the Nautilus 'Open With' tab feature is, it does not cover all the needs and many people will not like having to use Nautilus to set the defaults if they don't normally use it.

I'm a Firefox user myself, so I have no input to offer about Galeon.
