Some people should learn now to use procmail efficiently.

Anyway, it is not uncommon for some people to post to a given mailing list
without being subscribed to it (this is common in many "support" lists ---
see, for instance, the Linux Kernel Mailing List, where the CC fields get
huge sometimes).

So, in summary, there is no way to correctly know if you should or not
include a copy to the person. The better thing is to just CC the person
and, if s/he complains, exclude him/her from further inclusions.

BTW, if you use mutt, you can set Mail-Followup-To and it will direct
mailers *that respect it* to correctly post messages when doing a group
reply.

Reading the addresses listed in my signature would also help with good
ethic ways to survive in mailing lists.
