I have 2.6.8 on one machine running Debian testing and 2.6.9 on another
machine running Xandros 3 (Xandros is Debian-based) and I have not had
problems with Samba, the only problem I have had is that I cannot compile
kernels newer than 2.6.8 because of something that is broken and was to be
removed from newer kernels, "gamma drm" I believe it is called.
