I am trying for a week now to make debian work with ibm ServeRaid 7t

Perhaps it's just not autodetected properly. I use debian with
serveraid, and have not had any problems (not 7t, though). ServeRaid
is supported in the ips kernel module, so try to run the command

# modprobe ips

and see if that helps. As far as I know, it is distributed with the
debian kernels.

# modprobe ips

FATAL: Error inserting ips (/lib/modules/2.6.8-1-386/kernel/drivers/scsi/ips.ko)
: No such device

Does this mean that module ips doesn't recognize controller, and that is why mirroring doesn't
work properly.
BTW: I can see both of my discs (/dev/sda and /dev/sdb) instead of only one.
