Works fine with custom 2.4.18 kernel with "graphical console" enabled. Maybe Debian is correct not to include this in the stable default kernels since the feature is experimental. otoh.. default vga modes on a 15" laptop makes working in the console almost impossible. Maybe this feature is now mature enough to be offered in optional vesafb pre-compiled kernels? -- cga2001@eml.cc
