I often import eps files created with xfig or gnuplot into OOwriter.
They are only shown as frames with the title. (I haven't tried the preview trick
someone mentioned in this thread.) But they are printed ok.
I use OOo 1.1.1 from testing. Maybe version 1.1.0 couldn't do it.
