yes, the error now says "no device"
I logged into a terminal as root, changed to the /dev directory ant typed:
lspci

No.. I dont want to open konq from a terminal as root. What I am saying is
that when I log into kde as user and then log into a terminal as root (su -
then password), then logout as root (exit), I am unable to run konq from
within kde as that logged in user. I click the icon but nothing happens, or
a window opens but nothing is in it (not even a menu).
