Not at all! I will try something like that to be able to boot Debain.
As of now I have no way to boot the Debian install. since lilo did not
write to the drive. In fact, the installer, might not have correctly
written (and formatted the partitions) the partitions since I have had
trouble mounting them in libranet. I have not looked deeply into this

I blew up my grub with the debian installer, and it (the installer) does

floppy then what do I tell grub? the home of the grub config file is
hda6 (or hd0,5) /boot/grub. I can not chroot and run grub-install. The

Anybody know how to make the installer write lilo to a floppy?
The command '/sbin/lilo -u' is supposed to put the mbr back like it was when
the installer found it.
Well, I'm awake now! I was assuming somehow that you overwrote grub in the
mbr with lilo when you installed. You didn't really say that. If lilo did
not overwrite the mbr, then lilo will not be able to put it back <smile> I
hope I did not mislead you.
