Or "buy a product someone else is responsible for".  There is no problem
with using Linux for your firewalling needs.  You just need to
familiarize yourself with your tools and make sure that you don't rely
on any one tool for everything.  The same is true with proprietary
tools/products.  Security is a practice not a tool.
