Short answer: Dependancy are automatic if you use apt-get or dselect.

Start installing it without thinking too much. Debian is well designed:)
Welcome to Debian.

You are asking right question. But Mailing list may not be right
resouce for you for answering all the questing you have. (I read your
previous post "Preparation for Debian Installatin")

I suggest you to read basics.

  http://www.debian.org/
  http://www.debian.org/doc/

If I pick pages from there, check followings.

Before you install, read these. These are short. You must read it.
  http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/release-notes/ (for potato)
  http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/i386/release-notes/ (for woody)

When you install, check these before asking to mailing list:
  http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/install (for potato)
  http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/i386/install (for woody)

After you install, read these. (Just browse them and come back later if
you need them)
  http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-faq/ (FAQ)
  http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/
  http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/ (post install fun)
...

Good luck.
