Along similar line.

I use no password from console by changing /etc/pam.d/login

#auth       required   pam_unix.so nullok
auth       required   pam_permit.so

I guess you can do the same for contents of /etc/pam.d/xdm  if xdm is
used.  At least you do not need password.
