Yes, this allows you to do really cool things, only that *you* has to
write them... :) I tried first looking for any already existing
solution.
du has some nice options like --max-depth=N, --summarize and
--exclude=PATH, which allows for specific detail in certain points of
the directory tree (/home, for example).
I'll most surely end up writing a little script and calling it from the
user menu in mc.
