SCSI Transfer rate

Hi all,

I have a Symbios SCSI controller built onto my MB. The bios and debian on boot up report 40 MegaBit transfer rate. But further down in the kern.log I noticed the following:

sym53c876-0-<0,*>: FAST-5 WIDE SCSI 10.0 MB/s (200 ns, offset 15)
SCSI device sda: hdwr sector= 512 bytes. Sectors= 8888924 [4340 MB] [4.3 GB]
sym53c876-0-<1,*>: FAST-5 WIDE SCSI 10.0 MB/s (200 ns, offset 15)
SCSI device sdb: hdwr sector= 512 bytes. Sectors= 8888924 [4340 MB] [4.3 GB]
sym53c876-0-<2,*>: FAST-5 WIDE SCSI 10.0 MB/s (200 ns, offset 15)
SCSI device sdc: hdwr sector= 512 bytes. Sectors= 8380080 [4091 MB] [4.1 GB]
sym53c876-0-<3,*>: FAST-5 WIDE SCSI 10.0 MB/s (200 ns, offset 15)
SCSI device sdd: hdwr sector= 512 bytes. Sectors= 8380080 [4091 MB] [4.1 GB]

which states that it is only 10 MB/s. Is there something I need to change to correct this or is this normal??

Thanks,
Robert Webb
