I think that debian's default editor is nvi, just so you don't go
looking for info on vi, supposed to be compatiable, but I do know
nvi uses a .exrc for config.The default setup for nvi needs
tweaking, as long lines don't wrap properly had to set it up
using:set wrapmargin=8
