Hi Richard & Colin.

I'll nuke the files and see what happens.  In the meantime, the version
of sendmail is reported by dpkg as:
ii  sendmail       8.11.6+8.12.0. A powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Tra

Not the latest and greatest, but the latest and greatest in Woody as of
Monday.  Here is the result of update_db:

Urk.  I'm not getting any obvious mail transport problems, so this is
not screwing me out of productive time, but it does concern me.  I am
nowhere near even half-way into the bat book due to more pressing life
demands; but I wish I didn't have to hassle you guys about this :(
