when i try setting index_format in ~/.muttrc i get
	%Z: unknown variable
so i tried %S instead of %Z:
	%S: unknown variable
i ditched %Z and %S altogether, and got
	%{%b: unknown variable
aaugh!

and mutt only shows message number in the index (%4C apparently
parses correctly, but that's about all)...

who's got the pointer?
