I have tried a few things, but the only one that gave me any response at
all was xterm, and that was the 9~. As I've stated earlier, the end I'm
trying to achieve is to get these keys working with blackbox through the
bbkeys util. This util may be hosed.

I tried "xmodmap -pm" in an xterm, and got the following:

shift Shift_L (0x32), Shift_R (0x3e)
lock Caps_Lock (0x42)
control Control_L (0x25), Control_R (0x6d)
mod1 Alt_L (0x40), Alt_R (0x71)
mod2 Num_Lock (0x4d)
mod3 Meta_L (0x73), Meta_R (0x74)
mod4 Menu (0x75)
mod5 Scroll_Lock (0x4e)

Which looks good. I've got to try and debug this bbkeys thing now...

Thanks for all the help so far!
