This isn't what was asked but,
set go-=m go-=T
set go-=T
in .gvimrc will lose the menu and toolbar.
You know about the Vim mailing list? Very helpful people and lots
of tips. A directory browser macro was posted a few weeks ago
that is much quicker than reaching for the mouse.
