A good way to start in XEmacs in going to the HELP menu in the menubar
and grab the sample.emacs. There's a lot of interesting stuff in there for
beginners.

I've been using Emacs for 10 years, and switched from GNU Emacs to
XEmacs about 4 years ago. Indeed I prefer it. There's a deeper integration
with the different toolkits that one can find nowadays, and a more advanced
multimedia support. Also, I switched for other more technical reasons.
