Syntax highlighting in XEmacs (was [X]Emacs vs. vi[m])

How do you get colour highlighting for syntax in XEmacs - eg for latex
using AUC-TeX?
Also, do you have any other nifty setups for XEmacs.
Also, you sound like you use XEmacs more than Emacs. Have you tried both
and found XEmacs to be better?
