Well, this question is simple enough, at the LILO boot: prompt, type in:
linux emergency and when it asks for root password, enter it in, and edit
your /etc/init.d/whateverfile and chmod 644 it or whatever to fix it up.
If the file is 644'd then it won't run that script at boot time...
