This duplication is rather odd, but in principle legal. Unfortunately my
mail from this morning hasn't shown up on the list yet (that happens
quite often for me these days, strange ...). However, I am menawhile
sure that the (legal) dots in the glyphnames are causing the problems.
Here is an extreme example:

IIRC gfontview uses t1lib, not the methods provided by X11. And I am
pretty sure that this is an X11 bug, not a bug in the fonts.
