i didn't made myself clear, what i think is that either no question were
asked when upgrading, or if they was some i should have answered yes.
but either way i don't think we can find a way to investigate this very
precisely since i don't remember when did i switch tetex from sarge to
sid nor did i remember the version number of the first sid tetex i
installed on this machine

If you have any idea of check i can do .. why not. in fact i don't
understand when the pool size reported on the error was 50k less than
the pool size who was defined.

no pb it think the debian package of tetex is by far one of the best i
have used. Maybe that if the file /etc/texmf/texmf.cnf isn't used he
should be linked to the real file but appart that it's a great job
