Do you have the number at hand? I can't find it in the database.

Can you provide a small example? With
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{fancyvrb}
\begin{document}
\DefineShortVerb{\|}
|bla|
\end{document}
I get no errors.

Do you know that you only upgraded tetex-base, not tetex-bin, which is
now 2.0.2-4.3? Perhaps something went wrong during the upgrade?
