I looked at these two packages, too, and noticed that wdiff is
pretty seriously flawed in other ways (I got lots of warnings
during compilation). I had the same issues with maxima -- I just
don't want to reinstall an ancient version of tk.
Presumably there are more packages, though, or Junichi wouldn't be
complaining so much. I still think we can get them fixed without
messing up teTeX.
