another good clue is:

/ # ls /mnt/var/cache/apt/archives/*silo*
/mnt/var/cache/apt/archives/silo_1.4.14+git20100228-1+b1_sparc.deb

Do you (or anyone!) know how i install the newest silo & install the first/second loaders in /boot from busybox ash ?

I would guess it's:
/mnt/sbin # silo -r /mnt -S backup1 -f

(i have all the mount points mounted in /mnt and under)

I have http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/silo/silo_1.4.14+git20120819-1_sparc.deb in /tmp. i dont know how to manually install (dpkg has shared library dependencies that aren't in place)
