IIRC, open boot (the "BIOS" of a SPARC system) is default at 1152 x 864 (or 1152
x 900) at 60 or 66 Hz. My old Sun 17" CRT (fixed frequency monitor) is happy
when Xorg runs at 1152 x 864, 70 Hz.
I have an ultra 5 myself. I've had a 17" Daewoo CRT which should work fine in
those resolutions, but it didn't give any image. When I substituted it for a no
brand old 17" CRT, I had an image. Perhaps the monitor should support sync on
green or something?
