Oh, I wasn't thinking of the *entire* release, rather, as you put it,
speed critical packages. I would think, though, that there are quite a
few with reasonable speed increase. I'm not sure, but it might be
v7->v8 gives more than v8->v9, that's more of 32->64 bit, right?

However, there's also the (upcoming?) possibility to configure for
sparcv9-*, that'll be interesting when it hits the masses :-)
