Is the release team aware of this issue? Will migration to testing of the new vim be blocked automatically until this is solved? Cheers, FJP ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: apt-get dist-upgrade will remove metapackages Date: Tuesday 05 April 2005 23:25 From: "Peder Chr. Nørgaard" <pcn@pogt.dk> To: debian-kde@lists.debian.org The last couple of days I have not been able to complete an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my "sid" system, because it warns me that it will remove metapackages kde and kdeaddons. It looks to me as if the problem is caused by the newest version of the "vim" packages (1:6.3-068+4): the changelog contains: + Removed all kvim related packages, the code is no longer maintained. Sorry. (closes: #234455, #237385, #283765, #293110, #194449, #205586, #266431, #272621, #294848, #245006, #194964) The dependency sequence kde to kdeaddons to vimpart to kvim is thus broken. To me it looks as if kde metapackage is now uninstallable in "sid" which is really a pretty serious problem. Or is there some kind of work-around that will satisfy the dependency sequence in some other way? thanks in advance -- Peder Chr.
