One question... Are the binaries being built with LTO?
LTO can cause a lot of problems. See, for example,
https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=98396.
In another project I am involved with, LTO has to be disabled because
of inline assembly. GCC cannot optimize it properly. Also see
https://github.com/weidai11/cryptopp/issues/993.
