You should be able to run X. Don't use Option "UseFBDev" but "ProgramFPRegs"
"No" or

Probably because there is no 1152x768 mode defined in /etc/fb.modes. If you
have a modeline for that resolution in an XF86Config file, you can use
modeline2fb to generate a fb.modes entry. (You can find such modelines in this
list's archive or elsewhere on the web).

Not impossible. This may also be because the aty128fb in your kernel doesn't
have such a mode, or maybe you need to pass some vmode: argument.

Isn't he running Debian while you are running LinuxPPC?
