I guess I do not agree. At this point, the details of
mainainer file call protocols are standard interfaces to the
packjaging system that packagers must be aware of, and can depend on
not to change udner them.
When we have a means of chaning the behaviour, and can do so
with backwards compatibility, this bit of policy can easily be
revisited.
I think these procedures are important enough to the well
being of the system that any changes should pass peer review.
