The real vi has two modes: (a) Beep mode, where any keypress
processes a beep - except the keypress to get into corrupt mode. (b)
Corrupt mode, where any keypress produces a subtle, undesirable and
often completely invisible change to the file being edited - except,
of course, the key to get back into beep mode. --unknown
