For the benefit of the many people who don't speak Spanish (including the
majority of those in charge of the DM keyring), here's a quick translation.

For my part, I'm surprised by how damog chose to interpret your comment, so
I wonder if he wasn't already predisposed to assume the worst based on some
prior encounters. I'm sure he'll speak up for himself if that's the case.

[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:43:07] <Atomo64> damog: what about you, are you going to go the BSP for a bit? (just to confirm), if I'm making myself clear
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:43:41] <damog> Maybe so.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:43:44] <damog> It's not definite.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:44:34] <Atomo64> ok, just so we can get a decision made and announce it if we decide to do it
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:45:01] <Atomo64> I just need to confirm with my parents and I'll let you guys know
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:45:56] <mankod> Atomo64, do you know if we have to confirm, on account of the space we'll be using at nul-unu
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:45:58] <mankod> ?
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:46:15] Join zodman has joined this channel (~zodman@189.150.3.174).
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:46:31] <Atomo64> mankod: at the moment it's just to see if people are going or not (especially DDs) :)
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:47:12] <damog> There's nothing special about DDs.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:47:55] <damog> BSP != gathering of DDs
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:48:03] <damog> or it shouldn't be
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:48:22] <Atomo64> they can upload the packages :)
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:48:23] <damog> Atomo64: and if that's the only reason why you want to have a BSP, I don't want anything to do with it.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:48:47] <damog> that's discriminating against the rest of the people who could lend a hand.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:48:50] <Atomo64> damog: Gunnar proposed it, but no, that's not the only reason
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:49:15] Quit zodman has left this server.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:49:52] Join zodman has joined this channel (~zodman@189.150.3.174).
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:50:34] Quit zodman has left this server.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:51:23] <Atomo64> damog: but I also won't deny that I'm interested in keysigning :) and a DD's signature has relatively more value than that of someone who isn't one, at least where the NM process and even the DM process is concerned
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:52:10] <damog> yes, there are people that there's no reason to sign keys or get signed by
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:53:07] <Atomo64> but signing someone's key, whoever they are, whatever their "level", is nothing more than that
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:54:12] <damog> yes, it's the level that matters.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [19:55:27] * damog uploads xscreensaver
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:04:31] <Atomo64> damog: can you do an upload for me? it's a QA upload of apt-spy, it corrects the dependency on libcurl3-... (which is a Provides of libcurl4-...) and updates the standard version (without any changes needed): http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/apt-spy/apt-spy_3.1-18.dsc
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:10:05] <Atomo64> damog: I'll probably seem slow at the BSP, but I'm prepared to not dedicate myself to just the simple bugs :P
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:20:06] <damog> I'm prepared to only work with DDs because they have a better level than those who aren't DDs
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:29:52] <damog> As you know, the work of DDs has relatively more value.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:30:21] <Atomo64> I didn't say that, and it wasn't my intention that it be understood that way
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:30:45] <Atomo64> so please, don't say that as if I did
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:31:48] <damog> right, I forgot to add, at least where the package process is concerned
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:31:59] <damog> no, of course not.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:32:06] <Atomo64> and repeating what I said "whatever their 'level' is, it's nothing more than that", referring by 'level' to their status in Debian, equally referring to the NM and DM process, in which a key signature by a DD is a requirement to move forward
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:36:47] <Atomo64> damog: I don't understand the reason behind your attitude, but whatever it is, I want to confirm my position that a DD shouldn't be considered "better", "more significant", or any other qualifier that could be denigrating to those who aren't
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:38:36] <Atomo64> but I also take into account the work that a DD has done to reach said position in Debian
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:40:45] <Atomo64> so as for that, my way of measuring if a person is better than another or not isn't based on the "position" or "class" they belong to, but rather has to do with their knowledge but above all their application of that knowledge, although of course one could say that in theory a person who knows more is better than one who doesn't, but it all depends on how you see the situation and many other things that I don't consider relevant to mention
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:40:45] <Atomo64> since it's totally off-topic
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:41:18] <damog> yes.
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:42:06] <Atomo64> and my comment on "to see if people are going or not (especially DDs) es because I thought I remembered that gigio had said something similar, but looking over the messages again I noticed that he meant that if people weren't going to go then he didn't want to go all the way out to Nul Unu
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:43:13] <Atomo64> yes, it was my mistake to say it, but that's why I'm trying to clarify my reason for saying it, and my position on the subject
[Mon Dec 17 2007] [20:44:07] <Atomo64> so once again I ask your forgiveness if that's how it was understood since I hadn't intended it to mean that in the least
