Another way of looking at it would be to say that the description on the
web page reflects the collective role of the DAM but at the minute the
DAMs choose to split their role up between them. There are several
other teams within Debian that function in a similar fashion for various
reasons.

There's at least one Debian developer out there who has requested that
they don't have a shell account on the Debian systems like most Debian
developers becasue they don't find that they need it in order to do what
they do for Debian and they don't want the responsibility of having to
keep yet another account secure. This seems entirely reasonable to me
and rather similar to the current situation.
