Sorry, meant --create and not --update for pbuilder. After a few try and changing the mirror site, it went through. But git-buildpackage still complains about liborthancclient-dev: "pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy : Depends: liborthancclient-dev (>= 0.8.6) but it is not going to be installed."

I thought changing the distribution in the .pbuilderrc to "experimental" would do it but no... Any idea?

I can not say from own experience since I'm not using Ubuntu. However,
I doubt that you can turn an Ubuntu chroot into a Debian chroot by
--update. I think you need to create a chroot from scratch. Can you please
try this and if this might fail as well please give more verbose information
about the full output?
