You mean from a chroot environment? I am using the debian-live wiki as a
reference to do my work.

Yes! That is exactly my quest, to understand the process enough to easily
make the CD (usb) image without a need for endless patching.

Oh? Yes, I guess that is possible. I have a small NAS unit I could use for
this purpose.

I can understand what you mean - I will try to configure this environment
to support this type of auto-build configuration.
