I looked at it further and apparently they are the same thing. materm was
renamed to mrxvt due to name clashes. I recompiled the mrxvt-mini version with
rxvt scroll-bar support and mousewheel support. If you are using the regular
mrxvt then you can start it with the -ss rxvt option to get a better scrollbar
(mrxvt*scrollbarStyle: rxvt in ~/.Xresources or settings file)

For the moment I have switch to use it instead of screen.
