Problem getting my Crystal 4237b sound card to work

I've installed Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 Sarge on my laptop, a Dell
Latitude CPi D300XT.
I'm using kernel 2.6.8-1-686.
Everything's working as is should, except the sound card and the cd-rom.
Firstly I'm working on getting the sound card, which is a Crystal
4237b, to work.

Debian tries to use the driver cs4232. Well, it can output sound, but
it runs at 25% the speed it should. Think of it as running a 44khz wav
at 11khz. Sounds awful.
At http://free.vlsm.org/v17/au/csiro/datamining/debianbook/dlcpid300xt.html
I found info on configuring my computer for debian 2.1. I've tried
doing what he says (trying to use the cd4236 driver, adding text into
/etc/modules.conf), though it doesn't seem to work. I've found out
that there is no snd-card-cs4236.o on my system. There is, however, a
.o for cs4232 and a .ko for cs4232 and cs4236. Should it be like
that?. Doing what he said didn't change what my computer did at
startup. It still initializes cs4232. I've no idea how to make it
initialize 4236. I'm a linux newbie.

Any help appreciated!

Regards, Alexander Toresson
