Well, if you compare the unchanged packages and files, I would rather
think that Knoppix is more "pure" Debian-like after installation than
Kanotix is. I just don't "sell" this feature.

Knoppix is only continuing to use kudzu for hardware detection if you
install in "Knoppix mode" rather than "Debian mode". In Debian mode, the
hardware detection doesn't run (because everything is already
configured).

I don't know. "They" didn't talk to me yet about this.

Depends, it is still a mixture of different debian branches for
usuability and stability reasons.

Note to you: I can give you a private download location for the english
DVD image, if you are very impatient. ;-)

The CD images are still no ready yet (180MB to delete after the last upgrade).
