The challenge is that between stable releases, jenkins changes alot;
so say we shipped the current stable release on release day - in +3
months time the codebase will have potentially changed so radically,
backporting security or critical bug fixes because very time
consuming;  I've also found that sometimes this also required new
dependencies to be packaged.
