le font sfocate dipendono probabilmente dal tuo tipo di monitor o non hai settato la scheda video corretta o è dovuto al tipo di risoluzione selezionata attualmente, le operazioni che hai fatto servono ad installare tutte le font necessarie al locale usato normalmente per l'Italia (ISO-8859-15) e non avere problemi di visualizzazione font (sostituiti con altri che possono dare problemi di visualizzazione come la grandezza ed il tipo di font, ma non la sfocatura).

ah ok. proverò diverse configurazioni.

Con gnome puoi probabilmente sistemare la sfocatura con
$ gnome-font-properties
il comando corrispettivo di kde non lo conosco
