and even on a purely self-serving pragmatic level, it's generally a
good idea NOT to piss off people you're asking for help to solve your
problems.
'enlightened self-interest' says to follow proper email etiquette - no
top-posting, no bottom-posting, trim quoted material to the bare minimum
require to preserve context for your reply and if you can't do that for
any reason then don't quote anything at all.
