Experimental, not historic I think.

draft-ietf-dnsext-ipv6-addresses-00.txt is trying to make RFCs 2874
and 2673 experimental. Currently both AAAA[RFC1886] and A6[RFC2874]
are still proposed standards. Is that what you are referring to?

The draft also says about root of reverse this:

   The issue of the root of reverse IPv6 address map is outside the
   scope of this document and is covered in a different
   document[RFC3152].
