Re: d-i, debconf, po-debconf and plural forms

IIRC, they are not the only ones. However, po-debconf currently does
*not* allow using plural forms. That's a weakness which is known for a
long time and for which there is no workaround.
The problem is that the value of variables is not known at the moment
the translated strings are built from the PO files, in the templates
file that goes in /var/lib/dpkg/info when a packages uses debconf.
You should consider that numbers will never be 0 or 1 in that case. I
know this is not enough for some languages with compliated plural
forms but that helps a little.
Sorry for that limitation....of course, anyone finding a solution to
this is welcomed. It would need (invasive) changes in po-debconf AND
debconf.
