I think that the pop-down list is a good idea. Maybe someone could copy the Interface that Mac OS X uses in its file selection dialogs. It would have the normal folder hierachy and then a list of bookmarks or favourites and finally a list of recent folders: ------------- | stuff | | conrad | | home | | / | |-----------| |Home | |Desktop | |Documents | |-----------| |<bookmarks>| |Place1 | |Place2 | |-----------| |<recent> | |Place1 | |Place2 | ------------- And yes, please get rid of the three buttons on the left.
